All work performed to BS 7671:2018 Amendment 2:2022 (the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, current version). Building Regulations Part P notifiable work certified through a competent-person scheme. Public liability and professional indemnity insurance held in date. EIC and Minor Works Certificates issued on every notifiable job and every full circuit install.
Coastal electrical work isn't the same as inland electrical work. Every seafront job I quote assumes AF3 (medium corrosive-substance) external-influences classification: IP-rated gasketed enclosures, marine-grade cable glands, stainless-face external sockets and marine-rated chargepoints. It costs about 8-12% more in parts and lasts 2-3x as long. On the Margate seafront it's not upselling, it's the baseline. Two streets inland I switch to standard spec.
Old Town Margate and Cliftonville sit inside the Margate and Cliftonville Conservation Areas. Grade II listed frontages cluster along Hawley Square, King Street, Fort Crescent and Cold Harbour. I check TDC's listed-buildings list before quoting. Listed Building Consent applications drafted and filed as needed. Rear/side siting used routinely to avoid consent friction on installs that don't need to touch the front elevation.
